The Saddleworth Village Olympics is an annual event to encourage children of all ages to try new sports, meet new friends and engage in some healthy competition between all seven Saddleworth villages. Training sessions are held throughout the summer and all the competition takes place in September.
Incredibly, this year saw 1089 children from years 3-10, take part across 954 training sessions, in 154 competitions, over 13 sports! The tournament, now in its 37th year, is a remarkable embodiment of the spirit of community and is unique to the Saddleworth area. It’s believed that nothing like it exists anywhere else in the country. The event is free for all children to take part, hence the need for sponsorship.
M&C Risk Solutions has been an advocate of strengthening the community through children’s sports and activities, for a number of years. You’ll see the logo across a number of football shirts in the Saddleworth area, as well as being a patron of Madhlo; the state-of-the-art Youth Zone in the heart of Oldham for 8-19 year olds.
M&C Risk Solutions MD, Tony Morris is also a volunteer coach at Saddleworth 3Ds football club and has long recognised the power of sport in helping to develop young people. As such he felt compelled to support such a worthwhile cause.

It’s actually a privilege to be able to help contribute to the Saddleworth Village Olympics and to see the impact they have across the village communities. The Saddleworth Village Olympics will close on Sept 29th with celebrations held in each of the seven villages.
